If you’re looking for vintage fall home decor ideas, you’re in the right place! I’m obsessed with retro Halloween decorations but I also love a good autumn display. I look for fall decorations all year round at thrift shops, antique stores, flea markets and yard sales. There’s plenty of items that can become fall decor when they are put in the right setting setting. Here are some of my favorite pieces that I love to decorate with for the month of October.
Vintage Pyrex
I have my Oma’s Butterfly Gold Pyrex and they are in gold tones which are perfect for fall. I’ve thrifted different Pyrex bowls too in yellow, orange, green and brown that are the perfect pattern and color scheme for fall. Here are some Pyrex patterns you can shop for right now:
Apple cider jugs
I love incorporating apple related items into autumn decor. Apple cider jugs are a great reminder of fun fall activities. You can see two cider bottles pictured above.
Apple baskets and crates
I love decorating with apple baskets that you can buy new or vintage. You can fill those with real or fake apples, pumpkins and indian corn. Vintage crates are perfect too for displaying real or fake fruit.
Or you can find a cute vintage apple basket like the one above. I found this one at an estate sale for $1 and I took it with me apple picking for a fall photoshoot. I also use it as home decor.
Fall tins
You can’t ever have enough vintage tins. I have a bunch of tins that work well for autumn. One of my favorite tins in my whole collection is a vintage Fanny Farmer tin that has all four seasons on it. I love the autumn side and I put it out every year. Then I rotate the tin and show the different pictures for winter, spring and summer.
Woodland creatures
Incorporate vintage ceramic bears, deer, birds, foxes and owls. When I think of fall I think of trees and forests so they fit right in. You can see below that I used woodland animal bingo cards from the Charmin’ Chatty game. I also have a vintage bear honey pot and a Norcrest owl planter
Fire King Mugs
Fire King mugs come in a variety of colors and I love putting out my yellow, orange and red ones for autumn (Pictured above).

Mushrooms
Mushrooms are having a serious moment right now. You can find them all over but nothing beats vintage mushrooms like the cult classic Merry Mushroom set.
You can read about how I made my groovy 3 tier stand that my merry mushrooms are sitting on.
Pumpkins
Of course pumpkins have to be on the list! I have crocheted pumpkins that I bought at a craft fair that I decorate with. Velvet pumpkins are out right now and those are super cute too. I also love honeycomb pumpkins and I have two above on my yellow dressers.
I love to decorate with orange ticket rolls too. They make perfect little round stands to put pumpkins and knick knacks on.
Harvest signs
I have a hand painted Harvest sign that I found at a my favorite flea market, Allegan Antique Market. You can find hand painted fruit signs at flea markets and antique stores. Signs for U-Pick farms, peaches, pumpkins, apples, corn etc. or you can paint your own.

Vintage books
Adding vintage books to your home decor is always a good idea. I go to thrift stores to look for vintage books or even new books that look vintage. I put out orange, brown, grey, yellow and red books for fall. You can see above that I incorporated a lot of books including vintage Nancy Drew.

Vintage Blankets & Afghans
I love thrifting for crochet throw blankets! I have quite a few in the fall color scheme. I did a whole video on my Youtube channel sharing my blanket collection and I have some autumn ones in there too (Video above)!
Fall Quilts
I hope I’ve convinced you to check out the linen section next time you go thrift shopping. You might score a mustard blanket or adorable fall quilt! I found the one above at a thrift shop.
