Vintage Halloween decorations almost always means expensive. But everyone should be able to afford cute retro Halloween decor! There are some items that are more common so they are much more affordable. I’ll list some of my favorite cheap fall and Halloween pieces so you can decorate your home this October without breaking the bank.
Die cuts
Halloween die cuts are one of my new favorite things to hunt for. I love adhering them to my kitchen cabinet fronts to make my kitchen extra festive in the fall!
Gurley candles
I collect Gurley candles for all holidays but the Halloween ones are my favorite. They have witches, pumpkins, owls, ghosts and other spooky creatures. Most of them are pretty small but I do have an tall orange Gurley witch that I adore.
Honeycomb Halloween decor
I love Halloween honeycomb items and you can find them vintage or new pretty easily! They make great centerpieces or they come with strings to hang from chandeliers like my vintage spider honeycomb.
Vintage poison and medicine labels
I’m dying to buy a set of these. Jars and bottles are Common Vintage Halloween Decorations to Thrift Shop For so I love to collect them. I use reproduction labels but I’d love to get authentic vintage poison labels.
Halloween postcards
You’ll pay a bit for authentic antique Halloween postcards but you can buy packs of reproduction postcards which I love! I love this Halloween postcard pack from Walmart or the Cavallini Halloween postcards that are pictured above.
Then you can decorate with them and Create Custom Art with Vintage Paper Ephemera.
Halloween pumpkin trick or treat pail
Traditional jack-o-lantern trick or treat pails are very easy to find at thrift stores. You might not find a VINTAGE one specifically but the newer ones are still really cute and you can hardly tell if it’s new or reproduction. The one closest to the camera of the photo below is not vintage and I found thrifting.
Mini jack-o-lantern blow molds
I’ve collected mini jack-o-lantern blow molds for years and probably have 20 by now. My Oma and Opa used to have them in their house so they hold a lot of nostaliga for me. You can see them on the green shelf in the photo above.
Reproduction Halloween items
Etsy sellers have some amazing reproduction items like these Halloween paper packs. Check out their Etsy full shop because they have a lot of great Halloween paper packs that you can craft and decorate with.
I love the vintage Halloween mask garlands on Etsy too. Vintage Halloween masks are quite expensive so the mask garland is a much more affordable way to have them in your house.
Vintage Halloween decoations are the best and I want everyone to be able to afford the look they want. If you’re ready to spend the big bucks on rare Halloween pieces, be sure to read my post on Valuable Vintage Halloween Items To Sell & Collect.
