I have a wood front door in my 1960s home that I don’t want to paint. I wanted to do an easy and temporary makeover using cardstock. I love retro mid-century modern atomic starburst designs and wanted to make my 60s door look MCM. Here’s how I did it!
Craft Supplies
Cardstock - I used this rainbow cardstock pack
Scissors
Atomic starburst template in two sizes - I just google searched for one that I liked
Cut Out the Shapes
Print your atomic starburst template out. If you don’t have a printer you can pull a template up on google, turn the brightness up on your computer, put a piece of paper on your computer screen and trace the shape.
Cut out the starburst template and use it as a guide for cutting your cardstock. I used four pastel colors and ended up needing 5 large stars and 9 medium stars.
Attach Starbursts to the Door
Pull off small pieces of poster putty and put them on each star corner. Place them on the door in your desired design. And you’re done!
It’s a super easy craft and I love that the starburst colors go well with my painted furniture pieces.
