Holland, Michigan is so beautiful in the fall! Downtown Holland is all decked out with autumn decor and Halloween decorations. We have some great events and fall activities for you to participate in. Fall fest, trick or treating downtown, and pumpkin carving are just some of the things to do in Holland, MI in September and October.

Downtown Holland Fall Events & Activities

All the Halloween fun takes place in Downtown Holland. There are beautiful trees that line the streets that change colors and we have pumpkins all over the place. There is even trick or treating offered in downtown Holland! Click here for the list of fall events in Holland.

Fall Fest

Fall Fest has been going on for two years and was started by my friend Kim. There’s pumpkin carvers, street performers and a big craft fair.

Downtown Holland Halloween events

The carved pumpkins are spread out all over downtown Holland for you to look at.

During fall fest you’ll even see live pumpkin carvers working on giant pumpkins!

Fall Fest craft fair at Windmill Island Gardens

If you love craft fairs you have to visit Windmill Island during fall fest. They have a big outdoor craft fair and you can walk around Windmill Island Gardens while you’re at it!

Where to eat in Downtown Holland

Definitely stop by Bowerman’s on 8th and get some delicious blueberry donuts.

Crane’s in the City & Kilwins

Crane’s in the City has a lot of seasonal goodies! Crane’s is a local apple orchard in Michigan so if you’re looking for a slice of apple pie, this is the place.

You can get your caramel apple fix at Kilwins.

I had lunch at Hops at 84 East. I had a super tasty burger and I loved all the Halloween decorations!

Where to get coffee in Holland

Lemonjello’s coffee is my absolute favorite coffee shop in Holland. I’ve gone here for years and the ambience inside is wonderful. Whenever I visit downtown Holland for an event like fall fest or any of Holland’s Christmas events I stop and get a hot chocolate beforehand.

I always love shopping at Downtown Antiques in every season, they do a great job decorating seasonally!

Gezellig Home Store

I always have to stop in Gezellig because they have the cutest holiday displays and the best unique gifts.

Holland Clock Company

You won’t regret stopping in the Holland Clock Company. There are SO many cuckoo clocks, nutcrackers, beer steins and other German gifts.

Apothecary Gift Shop & Jean Marie’s

Apothecary Gift Shop has a great selection of jewelry, puzzles, toys and adorable gifts.

Jean Marie’s has cute home decor, accessories & clothing. Jean Marie’s is inside the clock tower which used to be a bank!

Fall farmers market

Holland’s farmers market is a must visit year round but it’s even more beautiful in the fall. You can buy pumpkins, cider, flowers and more. It can be quite busy so if you’re looking for something specific get there early!

Things to do in Holland Michigan in the fall

Holland is definitely worth visiting in the fall! Holland’s most popular time of year is during our Tulip Time Festival. You can read my Tulip Time guide if you plan on visiting in the spring.
