Burley Park flea market is my favorite antique market in Michigan. It's in Howard City, MI and it runs during the summer. But what are the dates and hours they are open? If you’ve tried searching for information on Burley Park you know how hard it is to find! What type of vintage items do they sell? How are the prices? I’ll answer all those questions in my Burley Park guide.
Open dates and hours
Hours are 8:00AM-4:00PM. I personally get there around 7:45AM to get in line right when it opens. The dates they are open:
Memorial Day
July 4th
First Sunday of August
Labor Day
First Sunday of October
Location and admission
The flea market right off US-131 on M-46 in Howard City, Michigan.
19558-19684 Howard City Edmore Rd, Howard City, MI 49329.
The cost is $4 per person to enter.
Parking
There’s free parking and it’s in the dirt/grass. Parking here can look really crazy when you first drive up. People park waaay out from the entrance gate because they don’t think there’s up close parking. But here’s a secret: There’s ALWAYS up close parking right by the entrance. Pull into the dirt road to get into Burley and head towards the entrance where there’s a bunch of trees. I park here every time and it’s just a few steps from the flea market.
Know before you go
This flea market is DUSTY and DIRTY. It’s basically a dirt fair ground type of area. I wear a face mask whenever I go because the dust makes me cough. Do not wear white shoes or nice clothes. Be sure to bring a water bottle because it can get hot. I also bring reusable bags and a backpack because I buy so many things. Be sure to bring cash because most of the vendors do not accept credit cards.
There are plenty of consession stands here if you’d like to eat lunch.
What kind of shopping is it?
There’s a huge mix of shopping here, it’s definitely a junky flea market. There’s booths selling new stuff and some people selling bushes and flowers. You’ll see a weird mix of stuff from bongs to blankets. But most of the market is vintage and antique items.
You can see me walk through Burley Park flea market in the video below. Plus the great items I found there and how much I spent!
How are the prices?
This flea market has really cheap stuff which is why it’s my favorite. Some of the items can be pretty dirty and need a good clean. But you can find really great vintage items for very little money. For example, I found my vintage Santa blow mold for just $10 here which is a really great deal. You never know what you’ll find!
Can you haggle at this flea market?
Absolutely! I went this past Memorial Day and I haggled on every item I bought that was over $5.
The vintage items I bought at the antique market
Merry mushroom canister medium size - $5
Merry mushroom canister small and large size (At a different booth) - $13
Pink lucite grapes - $5
Head vase - $1
Disney Orange Bird piggy bank - $1 (Very rare and an amazing find!)
3 vintage tins - $5
Yellow vintage wall clock - $5
Takeaway
This flea market is gross but it’s still my favorite. Why? Because I always leave with a bunch of dusty goodies. Some of the best pieces I’ve ever found came from this flea market for next to nothing. If you like to hunt vintage junk then you have to visit this antique market.
