I love visiting Harbor Springs and I visited Pond Hill Farm for the very first time and LOVED it. I check it out in the fall and they had the best autumn activities. There’s tons of pumpkins, things to eat and drink and plenty of things to do for adults and kids.
Pumpkins picking at Pond Hill Farm
You will not believe the amount of pumpkins they have at Pond Hill Farm! It’s honestly the most pumpkins I’ve ever seen and some of the largest too. They do such a good job putting pumpkins everywhere you look that it feels like you’re in an autumn wonderland.
Wine tasting, beer, hard cider & food
Probably the most popular thing to do is eat and drink here. They have an amazing selection of beer, wine and hard cider along with non alcoholic drinks like coffee, hot chocolate and cider. Personally I recommend the blueberry hard cider and the hopped cider. You can buy them to drink on the property or take bottles and growlers to go. They offer flights too for you to try all their varieties.
As far as food goes the pizza is AMAZING and made from scratch. They had other great food options like chili but we decided to share a pizza and it was definitely a solid choice.
Things to do for adults - Pumpkin bowling
Adults can have a total blast here! A lot of fall activities are geared towards kids but this farm does a great job of offering things for adults too.
You can purchase tickets for things to do around the farm. We decided to try out pumpkin bowling and that was SO fun! It costs $1 per ticket and it was 1 ticket to try pumpkin bowling. You can win a prize too and I got a Halloween snap bracelet which was loads of fun. It’s for kids but anyone can play and we enjoyed it!
Plus there’s an amazing view at the top of the pumpkin bowling hill. You get a view of the vineyard and you can see the bay too!
Hay ride
For 4 tickets or $4 each you get to go on a hay ride. I wasn’t sure if it would be worth the $4 but it definitely was. It’s 30 minutes long and you get gorgeous views of their property. The trees weren’t changing all that much in late September but if you visit in October I’m sure it would be even more beautiful. They take you to a trout pond where you can feed the rainbow trout and some ducks too.
You also get a tour of the hiking trails where you can go on a gnome hunt. They have gnome houses all throughout the trails that you can spot which is so cute. There’s a beautiful stream that runs through the forest that you get to see on the hay ride.
Fall activities for everyone
At night they have a haunted vineyard walk through which I wish I could have tried out. You can buy tickets for other activities that I didn’t try like pumpkin smashing which uses a baseball bat. Our hay ride guide told us they are looking for volunteers to pick grapes in the vineyard and they provide lunch and a free bottle of wine as a thank you. I wish I could have done that too!
They have a shop where you can buy a lot of things they make on the premises like jam and salsa. They also have a saw mill where you can watch them cut wood and they sell that wood too.
Pumpkin Patch
The pumpkin patch (Which is really just a maze of pumpkins you won’t see any pumpkin vines) is the perfect place to take photos. They have HUGE pumpkins and they are all for sale.
If you’re visiting Pond Hill Farm be sure to take the short drive to Petoskey and read my Petoskey, MI guide.
I’ve been to a lot of Michigan farms and done a lot of fall activities and Pond Hill Farm is my favorite place I’ve ever visited. We spent 4 hours there and had lunch. I thought we’d spend maybe an hour but it was so wonderful we spent half our Saturday there.
Tunnel of trees in Harbor Springs
Pond Hill Farm is right on of the tunnel of trees so you have to drive through that. I have a guide to Harbor Springs and the Tunnel of Trees that you can check out.
I also stayed at this adorable vintage 1970s camper while on this trip and you can read all about or watch the video below. The video also includes a drive through tour of the tunnel for trees!
